Check out our huge selection of Pistol Sights from the best brands including GLOCK, SIG SAUER, and Trijicon! Pistol sights are some of the most essential Pistol Parts, and upgrading them can immediately improve your accuracy. Although many stock handgun sights are perfectly serviceable, upgrades like Tritium Pistol Sights, Red Dot Sights, and Fiber Optic Pistol Sights are game-changers in competition, target shooting, and self-defense scenarios.

What is the Best Gun Sight?

Although choosing the best gun sight for your handgun is a matter of preference and your intended applications, here are some of the most popular lines:

What Are Pistol Sights Called?

There are 4 main types of pistol sights:

  1. Iron Sights or Open Sights: These are simple sights that typically have a single front sight and a notched rear sight. They come in either fixed or adjustable configurations, depending on the model of the handgun. These may have additional features like tritium or fiber-optic night sights but essentially operate in the same manner.
  2. Red Dot Sights, Reflex Sights, & “Holo-Sights”: These are an optic that is mounted where the rear sight typically goes on a handgun. They offer much faster target acquisition and use a lighted reticle instead of having to line up the front sight with the rear sight.
  3. Laser Sights: These are a type of sight that can be used with or without iron sights. A laser sight is either mounted under the barrel, onto the trigger guard, or integrated into the grip. They project a narrow laser beam that presents as a dot (usually red or green) on the target. They are particularly useful in fast target acquisition and low-light situations at close ranges.
  4. Pistol Scopes: Usually found on hunting handguns or precision target models, these look just like a traditional rifle scope with an objective lens, tube, and ocular lens, although they are typically smaller than a rifle scope.

Are Pistol Iron Sights Obsolete?

Not by a long shot! Pistols still come with standard iron sights and are perfectly serviceable right out of the box. They are generally easier to conceal than a handgun outfitted with optics, although red dot sights come in many mini and compact options that are also concealable.
