The Powerwinch 912 Emergency Hand Crank is an optional accessory crank handle for emergency situations. This red crank handle manufactured by the experts at Powerwinch is for Powerwinch 912 Electric Trailer Winch only. Built to withstand the harsh marine environment. There is an Emergency Crank Handle and an Overload Switch at the top of the Electric Winch base. The Emergency Crank Handle comes with a removable base that allows the handle to be mounted to a power source for use in an emergency (as opposed to having the crank handle fixed to the winch). With the base installed, the crank handle is fixed in place and the emergency crank handle is at the back of the winch near the motor, near the crank handle. When the red light indicates that the winch is in use, the red light should come on and an emergency crank handle will flash "Stoke the Winch" and the handle will turn red. Note: the 912 handle is designed for hand-crank operation and should not be used when the winch is in the "slack" position.
