Hi, How much does the plate weigh. Would this work as a backpack insert for school children and whats the difference between a front and back plate? — 1 Answer

This plate weighs 7.9lbs. It could be used as a backpack insert, however please be aware that these are only available for purchase to law enforcement, military, and security personnel. Front plates typically are slightly curved to accommodate curvature of the body, and many (including this one) have angled cuts at the top corners so as not to interfere with arm movement.
