is this a daylight scope also?

This is a THERMAL IMAGER. It detects heat (IR) being radiated from the target and its surroundings. Thermal imaging does not need ambient light or an infrared illuminator, and it is not affected by visible lights presence or absence. Scope will work in full daylight, as long as your target is a different TEMPERATURE than its surroundings/background.

The ATN ThOR LT 4-8x50mm uses a 30mm main tube, meaning any set of 30mm scope rings will be compatible. The height of the rings will depend on the rifle you intend to mount the scope to. We also carry the ATN QDM High Profile Dual Cantilever 30 mm Heavy Duty Scope mount, which can be found linked below. The ATN ThOR LT 4-8x50mm Thermal Rifle Scope model (MPN:TIWSTLT125OP-KIT1) will include an ATN QD mount designed specifically for this scope, and fits picatinny flat top rails.

The ATN ThOR LT 4-8x50mm Thermal Rifle Scope has a battery life indicator on the display screen. The manufacturer does not state if the ATN ThOR LT 4-8x50mm Thermal Rifle Scope battery can be over charged. I recommend contacting ATN for that information.

However, the ATN ThOR LT 4-8x50mm Thermal Rifle Scope should work fine with 30mm medium height rings.
