While the manufacturer says "Full-perimeter sealed vents for maximum resistance to smoke and airborne particles." no mention is made of tear gas.

Heard it works for Nonlethal Technologies CS gas but not sure about Chinese made Dioxin and Hydrogen Cyanide poison gas. I guess you really have to try it out yourself. I doubt if the manufacturer can answer it better than those at the front line.
