It will not hold any magazines as it comes. It has MOLLE webbing along the length of the vest body.

As this chest rig only has MOLLE webbing, the number of magazines you can hold depend soley on the pouches/panels you add to the carrier. For instance, a triple 556 mag panel typically takes up 6 columns of MOLLE, so you could attach 3 triple mag pouches for a total of 9 mags. Double that if you use double mag pouches. It's really up to how you choose to rig it.
