Range of the IR illuminator?

Pulsar does not provide an effective range for the IR illuminator as it is further than the device itself can see.

No, Pulsar does make a head mount kit however it is not specifically helmet compatible. Please note the 1x20 model comes with the head mount kit and may be better suited for your needs:

One of the photos is of what appear to be goggles. The other photos are of binoculars. Some photos show a rail on the binoculars. Clarify please.

These are night vision binoculars that can also function as goggles.
