The rd1 had 7,000 hrs of battery life on setting 6. The new rd2 advertises 50,000 hrs of battery life at setting 6. I haven’t found any real reviews yet on the new one.

I just bought a Crossfire Red Dot (June 2021), and the estimated battery life at setting 6 is 50,000 hours.
It does not have "II" anywhere on the packaging - - however, above the barcode on the box it does say "CF-RD2", presumably for CrossFire Red Dot 2.
So I think the real answer is there is no Crossfire II - - but there is an upgraded Crossfire, RD2, The primary difference being the upgraded battery life from 7K to 50K hours.

Vortex lists two different model numbers; and two different prices. I guess the much improved battery life is the main difference between the two. I have an older CF-RD1. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is the slightly obstructed view in the lower right corner of the lens.

I think the description mix up comes from an updated version of the crossfire. Vortex recently upgraded the battery life on new crossfire to 50,000 hours and the older models are 7,000. This may be why they labeled them the crossfire 1 and 2 on this site. I'm not 100% sure on that because they dont have the battery life listed for the crossfire2 in the description.

I think the description is mixed up. I went to vortex website and the crossfire II was a rifle scope, while the crossfire is a red dot.

Well the price of the Crossfire II is more than the price of the Crossfire I. Optics Planet must think that they're two different animals.
