It says "sight is predrilled" and then says "a drill press is necessary to drill hole in sight" Which is it??

It's not pre-drilled, so you have to drill it. If I remember correctly, you'll need a 1/16" drill. I use these and Meprolite tritium front sights and have had to drill them all. Hope this helps.

this fit Taurus 85 ultra lite?

Will this sight fit a S&W model 640, .357 Magnum with a pinned front sight?

Yes, the pin hole will need to be drilled but it will fit your revolver.
