andrew's Review of Athlon Optics Ares ETR UHD 4.5-30x56mm APRS1 Rifle Scope

this is the best overall optic on the market and heres why. yes there are superior quality products from nightforce ans SB and the like but they also often cost 2x or more the price of this optic. when factoring in price which lets face it we all want the most for the least amount of money. most people arent willing to spend 3x the price for 5% improvement it doesnt make any sense to do that. take it from me i personally own several high dollar scopes and i can honestly say what they offer over this optic does NOT justify the price difference. when i compare this optic to my nightforce atacr i virtually notice no optical difference at all and the turrets on the ares are better. there i said it people can get as mad as they want but its true. this optic has the best turrets ive felt in an optic. better than nighforce better than my trijicon 4.5-30. and ya i hear ya the sound and feeling means nothing if it doesnt track true right? ya absolutely right and the ares etr passed the tracking test with flying colors its dead on just as good as my nightforce and trijicon. you know where the ares gets beat by nightforce and trijicon? its in appearance. there no doubt when you look at the ares turret caps and eye piece it looks cheaper and plasticy compared to the nightforce and trijicon optics. but seriously who cares? a scope is a tool and im not saying the ares looks bad please dont take what im saying that way but if you lined the three up to someone who knew very little about scopes and said without knowing anything about scopes which is the best. the nightforce and trijicon look more "high dollar" than the ares. but in honesty the performance is right there with the best on the market and at an outrageously good price of 1199$ it cannot be beat. it makes me regret buying the other two im not even kidding. i got swindled by the name brands. when i used the ares etr i was honestly disappointed not because there was anything wrong with it but because for 1200 dollars it was as good as scopes costing 1/5 to 2x as much. and in its price range esp there is no competition the bushnell hdmr? ya its a good scope but for 1400$ totally not worth it the ares is better in almost every way. for a little less you could get the burris xtr II nope pass this scope is worth that extra 200$ i own all of these scopes this isnt just someone talking aimlessly. once you get upto glass of this quality most of the better/worse is personal preference. this is a very high fidelity scope that should have the big boys shaking in there boots. a truely world class optic for mid range price. forget the cronus athlon just killed their own product. the cronus is not worth the added 600$ optically its the same and the ares has better turrets. buy this scope you wont be disappointed if you are you can blame me but i really find it hard to believe that you will find anything wrong with this scope and especially once you realize you got all this for 1200$ your mind will be blown. i myself will have a VERY hard time buying any more expensive scope after buying this one
