Works, but could be better

Written on Jan 28, 2025

The fit and finish are great, works under very dark conditions, but definitely could be much better. The tritium is very small and barely visible until it gets almost too dark to use the site. These are freshly made, but are much darker than my mepro pistol night sites that are five years old. My other complaint is the retaining screw is shiny and is very distracting during daylight shooting because it’s centered on the left side of the site and is very close to the peep hole. Overall, the positive outweighs the negatives but as stated earlier, could’ve been much better.

Good but not great.

Got these to go with a blitzkrieg component front sight. The tritium is small which is expected but they are rather dim even though these were factory fresh. They are no where near as bright as mepro tritium pistol sights. They are however just bright enough to help you find the rear peep in the last little bit of twilight. There is one other small annoyance, the screw that holds the sight in place is extremely close to the peep hole and is rather shiny. It’s very distracting in certain lighting conditions. Over all the pros out weigh the cons.

Excellent as expected

Expense but not as expensive as a new suppressor. Easy to use, well packaged.

Great Red Dot Sight!

Written on Nov 24, 2023

Its a definite step up from the Mepro RSD & V2. It’s about .8oz lighter but still not Aimpoint micro light at 10oz, has a great mechanism that seems to return to zero quite well. The dot is bright and crisp, the auto brightness is excellent & fast to transition. the lenses are clear, it’s supposed to have a 2 year constant on battery life even without utilizing the auto shut off and power, saving settings. The sight is built very solid , it made from aluminum with a changeable polymer armor shell. Overall it seems like well rounded upgrade over other mepro RDS. Definitely worth considering. It does have a few features that set it apart from other RDS on the market. It doesn’t have any forward light signature like most other RDS do. There’s no POI shift with the sight on vs removing it so you can sight it in with your BUIS with a poi shift. It has a untented glass with a good field of view and it’s military tested and proven.

Good Idea, poorly executed.

Had two of these (returned one). They have a bright green laser but unfortunately neither would hold zero, you could literally zero it, not touch it for a few minutes and the zero would be drifting off. After the 2nd one had the same problem as the 1st I give up on them.

Excellent sights

Written on Nov 22, 2020

They are bright in the day and bright at night. In the transitional lighting conditions where fiber optics and tritium tend to fail the orange ring on the FSP remains very visible. Honestly I really don’t have any cons for these sights.

Absolutely terrible, do not buy!

Written on Sep 22, 2020

I’ve had good luck with Mepro in the past but this time I was REALLY let down. Received the sights and noticed they are very dim. They are about as bright as the Mepros on my 8 year old HK. Well installed the rear no problem, the front wouldn’t tighten at all. I was extremely careful but the material in the sight is so soft it stripped out. It took two hours to remove. After looking at reviews it seems to be a common issue.

Does what it’s supposed to

Written on Jul 15, 2020

I’ve had several of these they all work fine when you use 2 batteries like you are supposed to. It’s designed to hold a backup for your T-1/2 it also gives extra grip to turn your sight on. People tend to buy these , don’t put the spare battery in and then complain about their sight not working anymore. (One battery will pop loose under recoil) is it really needed on a T-1/2? Do you need to carry an extra pair of underwear? It’s one of these things that only you can answer but in the great words of Bert Gummer... “ When you need it and don't have it you sing a different tune”

The Jack of all trades became a Joker....

Written on Apr 22, 2018

Good image (not great) but out of spec helmet mounting system ,no front lens focus, no more weapon mounting capability, poor battery life makes this no better than the scout at almost double the cost. Whoever at FLIR thought this was a good replacement for the Q14B advertised it shot show needs to be sent back to the mail room.

Well made and solid.

Written on Apr 19, 2018

The Leupold riser is everything you’d expect from Leupold. It’s well made and mounts solid.quality. I mounted it on my Steyr AUG and it has worked absolutely flawless. I can honestly say I have no complaints about it.
