A regrettable purchase

Written on Jan 28, 2022

The gen 2 MCK is not worth the money they charge for it.
1. The plastic of the MCK feels rather cheap. Contrast this with the high quality plastic brace by F5 MFG for PCCs.
2. The overall feel of the conversion kit is bulky
3. The charging handle is too small and does not allow for a good purchase
4. The picatinny rail felt out of spec to me. I had trouble getting a red dot to fit that fits on other rails without issue.
5. The accuracy of the MCK is horrible; the gains in stability do not carry over to accuracy. Just about any PCC will easily outperform the MCK
6. The brace is floppy and does not allow adequate shouldering if that is your thing

Solid Brace for the HK SP5 with minor flaws

Written on Jan 24, 2022

Pros:
1. This brace locks up very tight and has no wobble to it
2. The cyberarm brace is solid and comfortable against your forearm and shoulder alike. No flimsy rubber here
3. The cyberarm brace once screwed down tight will not rotate
4. The brace has 7 adjustable positions. When fully extended the extra long length of pull is appreciated; which allows the user to easily get down low enough to use the iron sights. This brace provides the longest length of pull of any other brace I've used or looked at.

Cons:
1. Brace does not lock in the folded position. It literally just flops around while folded. There is no detent to overcome.
2. The pivot pin in the folding mechanism walks up and out every time the brace is folded and unfolded. The walked out pin snags on clothing so it is important to hammer the pin back in place when it pops out
3. When collapsing the brace, it creates a pinching hazard if your hand is not clear of the cheek rest
4. The Polymer locking lug had a small chunk missing from one of the corners. I thought that it may compromise the tightness of the lockup, but all seems well so far

More for looks than functionality

Written on Jan 15, 2022

This bayonet features a sharp tip and look and installs easily onto the MCK. The fitment is loose and doesn’t inspire much confidence, but should be good enough if it is ever needed. The weight of the bayonet does not make the overall feel of the MCK feel front heavy. The balance of the MCK is relatively maintained as a result of the installation.
