Nick's Review of Firefield RapidStrike 1-6x24 Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane

I did some research on this when I was shopping for a new scope. I read a bunch of reviews on different sites before I settled on it. I've been operating this on a carbine length semiautomatic rifle with a standard M4 front iron sight.

The good:

- The price won't break the bank.
- This is reliable and accurate. It's held a zero after several sessions at the range. I hit what I point it at.
- If your battery dies, the etched reticule is still visible, allowing you to keep shooting if you have sufficient light.
- The red and green lighting options are useful for different lighting conditions.
- I like the honeycomb glare reducer. You don't even notice it when sighting downrange.

The not-so-good:

- This won't co-witness with your iron sights. It's too high for the front sight and too far back for a rear flip up sight to flip up. Your irons will become fallback sights for if this fails for any reason.
- You can't adjust the turrets to perfectly line up with the zero point after you get your sights locked in. When I try to adjust them the zero is always a notch or two ahead or behind the mark. This is mildly frustrating.
- I've heard from others that the throw lever is fragile. I used locktite when I installed it, and it hasn't broken on me so far.
- There is a little bit of parallax if you don't look down the scope just right
