Brian Tait's Review of Ghost Inc Moab Mag Extension for Glock 43

I was hesitant due to no reviews but was pleasantly surprised at what I recieved (faster than expected).

Made in the USA out of quality materials and in perfect shape. I appreciated the slight curvature of the front, as well as the flares on the sides of the very bottom of the plate extension. Lends well to more secure retrieval from mag holsters etc.

Instructions were decent, but a little vague. Admittedly the process would likely have been much easier with an Armorer's Tool (recommended on instructions, I am purchasing one after posting this).

The only problem I had was seating the Ghost mag insert onto the Ghost Extra Power Spring and keeping it there while compressing the spring. Following their included instructions verbatim was causing the insert to easily slip sideways, into the spring. I pinched the very bottom (plate end) of their spring inward ever so slightly to get more purchase on the mag insert. The instructions say to compress the spring and insert into the magazine and then slide the extension plate on. This resulted in more insert hullabaloo. Ended up placing insert on spring, then aligning extension plate onto the mag insert fully, and then compressing that whole assembly while then aligning om the rails on the mag, and sliding the whole thing into place. There was absolutely enough room for the spring to float between the plate and wall of the mag, and made the process simple! I recommend doing this instead of following Step 5; save you some time and headache.

I have fired ~150 rounds through this Ghost Mag Extension on my G43 and have had 2nd round misfeeds 4x. To be fair, I experienced this with the (same, brand new) factory mag with factory plate. I believe it to be an issue not related to this product. The very top/front of the mag had been pinched and had a sharp protrusion of plastic after using the mag for the first time, and am trying to compare the two factory mags for the true issue. Likely need to file just a few hairs off of it.

Overall I am very impressed with this Ghost extension, and definitely recommend it! I am a stickler for experiencing a perfect product to give a perfect score. I rate it a solid 4.75 stars, and will be purchasing Ghost products in the future, based on what I recieved and the great price!
Pros:
  • Great quality, price, and design
