Went with this Hi Viz sight after reading tons of reviews and install stories. Bottom line, it's worth it if just for the front sight. Front sight is bright. Way better than the Ruger brass bead. fiber optic dot does end up being about 1.4mm higher than brass bead. But your rear sight is adjustable for that. The rear sight is junk as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't pick up light well at all. The two dots are way too close together. Read too many reviews of rear sight being loose in dovetail so I never tried installing it. Install tips: factory sight gets drifted out Left to Right (holding rifle as if you we're shouldering it ). You'll need little needle files and a digital caliper capable of reading thousandths of an inch for filing down new sight. Use width of factory sight as a guideline. For example, my factory sight base had a width of 0.369" at the widest point of the dovetail. My Hi Viz sight had a width of 0.379 out of the box. Obviously that wont fit. I just filed the slanted portion of the HiViz dovetail, both sides but not the bottom, until I slowly brought it down to 0.368". Keep trying fit as you go. Little bit at a time. You can't put metal back on, so don't take off too much. Good luck.
Pros: Front sight has excellent visibility. Choice of two color dots
Cons: Son of a gun to remove front sight & install. New front sight REQUIRES filing to fit.
