Most Helpful Positive Review Older Model KONUSPOT 20-60x100mm, Blue
I purchased the older model that was blue in color, I understand that the new green one has better optics then the blue one. I am a high power shooter. On our range we do our shooting at 200 yards. For the price I paid this was a very good value. In fact I purchased the first one on our range here i...

Most Helpful Negative Review Konus 100mm
Optics as good as Kowa as I had them side by side. I can't believe the quality and the hundreds I saved over a Kowa. No one makes a scope cover for the 100mm yet. Pros: great optics & bright Cons: bit heavy & Bulky and no scope cover avail.

Very Nice Spotting Scope - Poor Quality In Manufacturing -

by GREGORY, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on April 23, 2019
Received the item and everything was packaged nicely and the general appearance was great.

The bad....Starting out my experience was not great and this is the reason for four stars. Once I removed everything and mounted the optic on a tripod I started to remove the dust cover from the eye peace. This is were things went wrong. I was physically unable to removed the dust cover by hand. With a bit of destruction to the cover I was able to remove it. The reason for the dust cover being on so tight was later found out that the threads (that are suppose to mount to a T2 adapter for a camera) are over sized. I am unable to use this optic with my camera do to this which is not the main reason I purchased it but still would of been nice to use this feature. Also goes to show that quality control is lacking with this company someone obviously jammed the dust cover onto threads that are oversize.

Now on to the good.... Once I was able to remove the dust cover and was able to actually look thru the optic I was amazed by the clarity, eye relief, and usability this scope had at 60X. I have not gone to the shooting range yet which is the main reason of this purchase but I easily see this being able to view targets at 300 yards and possibly beyond. All this being said the cost and view of this optic is well beyond what I expected for the price range and is the reason for such a high rating. If anything else would of been sub par I would of been returning it. I would imagine the...

Not up to par

by Strap, from MI, United States Written on April 23, 2019
Using the scope for range spotting, I shoot 1,2 and 300 yards. Used it for the first time at 200 yards, shooting an M1. I could see the holes in the white, but not the black, was a sunny day also. It is heavy, and I have a very strong tripod, setting on the ground. There is a very small range of focus to get the scope to be clear. One small turn of the focus wheel either way, leaves the picture blurry. This is my first spotting scope buy, it will have to do for what I need it for.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Small focus range

Great spotting scope regardless of the price!

by daddyrica, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on March 2, 2018
Konus' Konuspot 20-60X100 spotting scope is the way to go! I read the reviews before buying and I agree with all the 5 star reviews. It's nice and clear, crisp sight picture is excellent. The features are a plus. I had a question in regards to if the adapter bracket that moves the tripod mount forward to offset it's front heaviness was included due to not clear in description and emailed Konus in Italy and they responded right away, and yes it does come with it and really helps balance the scope considerately. I found it to be clear from edge to edge even at maximum magnification. It's easy to focus and adjust and the built it pull out sunshade really helps on bright sunny days. I find it much more natural for me it being angled than a straight scope. If you are spotting at the range or doing some terrestrial, even extraterrestrial viewing you can't beat it!
Pros:
  • clear optics, features, price
Cons:
  • a little front heavy
Best Used for:
  • range spotting

Great scope for the price point!

by Brian, from WY, United States Written on February 10, 2018
This scope lets in a lot of light and has clear imagery for the price point. It’s not as clear and crisp as a $2,000 scope with HD glass, but I wasn’t willing to spend $2,000 and this scope suits my needs. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a fine focus (it only has a coarse focus).

300 yd clear view of targets

by mpr, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 11, 2017
I specifically bought this to look at 300 yd targets. You will do better with the shoot-n-c targets, but the resolution is clear and focus acceptable to see clearly at this distance. Note - the scope is very front heavy - It has a center of gravity about 4 inches forward of the mount point, so you either have to get a very heavy and sturdy tripod or get some sort of adapter balance mount. So I made a custom tripod base adapter about 4 inches long out of 1/8 inch thick steel bar flat stock to better balance the mount at the center of gravity. The rear of the bar has two 1/4 inch diameter holes and mounts to the scope base using 1/4 inch by 3/4 inch long bolts, the forward part of the bar with a drilled and tapped 1/4 inch hole mounts to the tripod base. Now it is easy to balance, adjust and lock on target.
Pros:
  • clear optics
Cons:
  • heavy and bulky
Best Used for:
  • spotting scope

Great spotting scope, great price

by Jay, from CO, United States Written on September 26, 2017
Bought the 100mm scope after borrowing a friend's at the range. I had a 60 mm scope that was fine at 100 yards but finding target holes at 200 was difficult, 300 was impossible. It was time for a change since I was now shooting much longer ranges. The 100 mm scope fills that need nicely. Yes, it is heavier and you'll need a sturdier tripod than you probably have now but the improvement in performance is well worth it.

Scope was defective.

by Sagerat22, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on September 17, 2017
The scope initially looked good. But as I unscrewed the eyepiece cover, which seemed very tight, the whole eyepiece assembly detached from the scope. There's no way to put it back together. So I returned it. So far that process has been easy but I haven't gotten my refund yet, so we'll see.

Nice Spotting Scope

by rchdawg, from TX, United States Written on April 14, 2017
Seems to be a made well, however the first one that arrived had to be sent back, box had been opened before and was missing a part also I could not get the eye piece screw on cover off, was stripped on at factory I guess. Anyway have only used it once and it seems to work great so far. This is a big and heavy spotting scope, so you better have a really good tri-pod or it will be difficult to keep on target. That's all for now, will update if I need to

Universal Optical Finder

by NICK, from OH, United States Written on March 7, 2017
Konus has a optical device that can be used for birding, target scoping, nature viewing, hunting, astronomical spotter, and photography. An excellent field and long range spotting scope! The hardest issue is finding the right matched head and tripod to universally match it variety of uses and applications. If only there was an ability of interchangeable lenses and optics to use with the 100 mm objective lens.
Pros:
  • multi functional
Cons:
  • Lens caps are kind of flimsy
Best Used for:
  • Birding and Wildlife viewing
