As another reviewer said each part works as it is supposed to. The sharpener body is made of steel itself so I believe it will hold up well. the diamond rod is secured when closed or when opened with a strong magnet so it is easier to use and store, very nice feature i think. The magnet is nice also because it keeps the rod from opening in your pocket. It is small and therefore you need to be extra careful when using it, but it is meant to be small to fit in your pocket. Great pac sharpener

Got this to replace old worn out one by a different manufacturer. This is much sturdier one one I had. This model works fine for what it is made for, quick small jobs. It is in my backpack always when scoring and hunting. I attach it with some 550 cord inside the pack.
Best Used for:
  • Small tasks and back pack tool.

Great tool for general maintenance

This is not a tool you want for all sharpening, but it is outstanding for its intended use. It is small and can be carried easily in any bag or pack, and keeps knives sharp and well maintained. The ceramic works well for serrated edges and I love it for general maintenance of regular cutting edges.

The tool attempts to do what it meant to do. That is, to sharpen folding knives! It is handy but somewhat uncomfortable since the tool itself is too small. One must intend to be very careful in the handling of the handling of the sharpener. However, each and every part does its work. The diamond sharpener has its way with the seriated knives. The ceramic portion goes easy on the blades, etc. I bought two of them. I recommend them!
