Nd 3x50 laser illumiinator - Laser Genetics ND 3 x 50mm Sub-zero Laser Designator w/ Scope Mount

I have two of the units and the first one I bought works great. The second one, I bought for my daughter and it is defective. The light on one side drops off and it is not as bright as the first one. We sometimes get lots of crows on our property and by aiming the laser at them for about three seconds the entire flock leaves in a hurry. I have tried aiming it at birds of many sizes and varieties and the result is always the same. As soon as I turn on the laser the birds leave.
I have not tried it on animals for fear of blinding them. For larger animals like deer or moose you might be able to adjust the beam as narrow as possible and only aim at the heart or lung area of your intended target without frightening them.
For hiking after dark it will easily illuminate the trail 100 or 200 yards ahead of you much better than a flashlight.
