Most Helpful Positive Review Great tool for dry-firing practice
This is a very handy tool for indoor target practice. It immediately shows any deficiencies in proper grip and trigger control of the shooter. As soon as the hammer (or striker) falls, a laser pulse is transmitted, showing where the bullet impact would have been. Also, since the laser pulse is re...

Most Helpful Negative Review Save your money.
Another reviewer had problems with the threads after taking apart to save on the battery life. Same thing happened to me. I am probably close to not having threads left to hold it together. Now the striker fire action does not activate the laser. I have used the unit less than a week. There is not a...

LaserLyte Pistol Trainer.

by Rich, from MA, United States Written on July 27, 2015
The item purchaser works great and has improved my accuracy when shooting.

My only negative issue was and this is not fault of OPTICS WAS THE MISSING batteries, a plastic part and the Allen wrench. Now that I have all the parts (just received about 10 minutes ago) all is well and works great.

Respectfully,

Rich

A little tricky but worth the effort!

by snowguy2, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on July 20, 2015
As with every LaserLyte product I have purchased they can be a little tricky at first. But once you figure out barrel size adjustment (without getting it stuck in barrel) and remember to always disengage batteries it works great!

LT-Pro Laserlyte

by Legacy Reviewer, from IN, United States Written on July 9, 2014
Short battery life is true. Difficult screw connection is true. I suspect that some complaints could be actually caused by the fragile tiny spring that easily gets lost (that part should be available for replacement). However, skillful care makes dry-fire more interesting.
Pros: great for dry-dry practice
Cons: tiny spring on top of batteries too fragile and difficult

Does what it's supposed to

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 20, 2013
great product / system but you have to manually remove the battery each time you use it or it'll drain down. also, i have to rotate it around a bit and test it before it's accurate.
Pros: Easy setup
Cons: battery life, must be tweaked for accuracy

Has a few issues

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on May 8, 2013
First, the batteries must be removed each time after using or battery life will be less than two days. Must unscrew unit and remove top to "Turn off" and stop battery depletion. Hence, one must remove unit from weapon after each use, unscrew top of laser unit.

Alignment might be required after setup. Sometimes the aim is off, so the laser unit must be removed and re-inserted to get good sighting. And since unit must be removed from pistol after each use to preserve battery life, definitely not as convenient as could be. Still workable. Just takes a little time
Pros: When set up, will provide good training
Cons: Battery life, Must be set up to aim accurately

Unreliable

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on May 4, 2013
This product is garbage. I only got 3 shots out of my Laser Trainer Pro before it stopped working. At first I thought the batteries that came with it were bad, but after purchasing new batteries the thing still did not work.
Cons: Worked for about 3 shots

Poor Quality

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on March 12, 2013
Stopped working after only one day, maybe 100 shots - I then replaced the batteries twice to make sure it wasn't just bad batteries. It says there is a 3 year warranty, but I don't see this item lasting that long.

Functional

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on February 4, 2013
Doesn't seat well in my Kahr PM45 with a 2.5" barrel, but works great in everything else with a 3" barrel. Wish it had an easy on/off switch.
Pros: easy to adjust from one gun to the next
Cons: no on or off switch

Too many flashes with double action

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on August 13, 2012
The device is very sensitive to noise and flashes on the cocking hammer movement when the double action mopde is used (as with a double action revolver). It works as advertised in the single action mode , though.
Pros: easy to set up
Cons: flashes on the cocking hammer movement
