Most Helpful Positive Review Amazing for the price
These binoculars are an amazing deal. Glass quality is every bit as good as my Cabelas guide gear binoculars for about 1/3 the cost. Used them recently for viewing sandhill cranes here in Nebraska and was more than happy in every way. Bright clear high detail viewing was possible in a variety of ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Poor Quality
Where do I begin? Focus knobs are so stiff it makes focusing almost impossible. As for focus, they really don't. I have 3 Leupold Gold Ring scopes on my best hunting riffles and accustom to Leupold quality. My riffle scopes are made in the US. These binoculars are from China. When I contacted ...

Too cheap and not clear.

by badadzevikin21, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on August 23, 2021
I recently got these in the 10x42. The binocular case the binoculars come in (including the neck strap) are better than the binoculars themselves. I expected better from leupold on these binoculars. MY reference for good binoculars is the 10x50 Bushnell Xtreme series. (They are excellent, clear, can see for miles, etc). Unless the binoculars that I have are less than, I really would not recommend them to anyone for anything more than target practice.
Pros:
  • Good case
  • Good neck strap
Cons:
  • Cheaply made
  • Not clear/fuzzy
  • Field of view is terrible
Best Used for:
  • nothing

Blurry top half

by Jamnpi, from CA, United States Written on August 21, 2021
I was unable to focus a clear image until I used the bottom half of the optical image only. The bottom half of the image was clearer and I could finally focus on my subject. My cheaper Bushnell's did not do this so I don’t feel it was my eyes.

Leupold bx 1 McKenzie

by Rottenpicker, from FL, United States Written on June 8, 2021
I purchased these as a gift for a family member for upcoming trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. I also have a pair of the BX4 pro guide to compare these to . Side by side they are very similar size and exterior finish, the come with same case and harness. Made in China BX 1 and made in USA BX4. Different diopter adjustments between them. Glass is noticeably better on BX 4 but for the price BX 1 is good enough to get it done....

Great for birding!

by PJinSD, from CA, United States Written on May 28, 2021
Very sharp and great contrast allows easy identification of minor variations. Excellent ergonomics make focusing east. These binoculars are well built and l have no worries about their durability. Would highly recommend.

Great binoculars

by Nick, from WV, United States Written on April 10, 2021
These are great binoculars for the price.the glass is clear and crisp for the price point. They come in a nice carrying bag. The only down side to this unit is where it's made. Wish we would make more stuff here.

Solid and inexpensive

by AMNYG, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on March 6, 2021
Very solid built, not too heavy, great optical features- what else can I add, not too expensive. Got it a while ago and so far can't complain. Comes with the carry pouch, neck strap, cleaning cloth and eye piece protectors. Overall very satisfied.

Leupold BX-1 McKenzie 10x42mm Roof Prism Binocular

by Faye Brumfield, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on January 14, 2021
Great binoculars straight out of the box. Allows you to see clearly at quite a far distance. Adjusts easily. Has all the gear provided with the strap, lens covers and it’s own case. It didn’t take OpticsPlanet long to mail them out. So receipt after ordering was less than a week.

Not worth 40.00

by Ray, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on January 9, 2021
I own a number of Leupold products. Red dots and high end rifle scopes. And this is the worse Leupold product I have ever had. The adustment for eye width is very limited. Maybe i have a fat head but they would not adjust wide enough. Even as a monocular they are not worth the money. Someone other than Leupold made these. I see why they are on sale. Optics Plant has a great return policy.
Pros:
  • None as it wont fit
  • none as is wont fit
Cons:
  • not worth $150+
  • not worth the $150.00
Best Used for:
  • Great for preteens
  • Great for kids

Great quality

by Paul Harris, from NY, United States Written on December 29, 2020
Bought these as a spur of the moment on Black Friday, and they were worth every penny. Easy to adjust for my eyes, and work well in low light conditions. Went from no optics in hand to an optic that you can trust that is American made!!

Leupold BX-1 McKenzie 10x42

by Nailz, from NC, United States Written on October 6, 2019
These are excellent binoculars. I have been searching for a good set for awhile and I read an article about them in a popular hunting magazine. So I gave them a chance. They are crystal clear. 10x is alittle much for the woods if thats what you are using them for you may consider 8x but out in the open they are amazingly clear. I have been dealing with Optics Planet for a long time. They are top notch.
Pros:
  • crystal clear
  • fast focus
Cons:
  • Focus is super touchy
  • lens covers could be designed differently
Best Used for:
  • Wildlife watching
