Mission-Complete's Review of Midwest Industries AK Alpha Series Folding Stock

Put this on my AR-22 with a CMMG Banshee 4.5" upper. Even with the stock folded and at full LOP, it's shorter than the Banshee, making for a very compact firearm. MI's FDE finish is lighter than the Banshee's FDE, but quite close to the Radian Brown lower receiver and MFT's grip in the same colorway.

LOP adjustments are a little tight but playing with the locking screws will eventually get you to the sweet spot if you need a stock that you change LOP on frequently. I set mine once and will leave it there. With 4 sling QD points there are plenty of options to find what works for you.

Cheek riser is adjustable using the installed hex-driven screws or the included knurled screws. And it sets back far enough to not interfere with the CH. Being all metal, it isn't flimsy and doesn't move under pressure like some risers. The shoulder pad is firm but grippy, just the way it should be. And it's adjustable up/down.

Bottom Line: If your firearm doesn't use a buffer, this is a great choice for durability and adjustability.
Pros:
  • Adjustable
  • Sturdy
Cons:
  • Folding takes some strength and dexterity that challenges my old hands
Best Used for:
  • AR-22s and other bufferless firearms
