Scoutmaster's choice - Nalgene Stainless Bottles

Being a Scout Leader for the past 50 years I have carried many, many different bottles and canteens. The Nalgene standard 38oz.stainless bottle is designed for about any situation you can put yourself into. It is the only bottle that I know of that has a double rim that can accommodate a lanyard if you need to fill from well or deep hole. It also will allow you to suspend from a wire to keep above the fire for boiling. The threads are deep and will support many types of QUALITY water purification systems. The stainless steel will take direct (in the fire) heating without noticeable distortion (Lid removed of course). I have boiled water in mine directly in the fire pit over 100 times at least and still is as good as new. This bottle can take a hard workout. It can also be used as a reflector if need be.
Cons: heavy, but worth the weight. If you want a lighter bottle than plastic is the way to go. If you want a bottle to last a life time with lid replacement as needed (not needed yet) this is the best on the market. The rule of thumb is: you will always get what you pay for regardless!!!
Note: It is the only bottle that can grow legs and walk of if you do not engrave you name on it!! In fact engrave your name on everything as it will save a lot of trouble when dealing with other people.
