David Copeland's Review of PARD Optics NV008SLRF Night Vision 6.5-13x70mm Rifle Scope w/LRF

All the ads and YouTube videos seem to speak highly of this scope. However, be very very careful when choosing the item. Unless you are a professional night hunter, or at least an accomplished hunter, you will find this scope does not match up to what you think you’re getting. I seldom give negative reviews on equipment, but this time I must be honest. Beginning with the manual, which is a poor example of an instruction booklet, because of its failure to explain in detail, what to expect, and how to operate the scope, I found myself referring to it many times looking for Instructions on how to operate the mechanism. The manual shows you where the buttons are, and gives a brief sentence or two what they do. And no more. Now to the scope itself, I found it to be less than expected. I am a backyard shooter never exceeding 33 yards. No matter what distance a shot at I was never able to figure out even how to zero the reticle. I admit I am an amateur who tried to use a scope far beyond his understanding. I put a call into Optics Planet requesting a call from them to explain to me how to return the item. Perhaps the scope would work really well for someone that knows what they’re doing, but the fact that the box mine came in had some scuff marks, and a slight tear in the lid, I’m wondering if I wasn’t sent a scope that somebody else had returned.
Pros:
  • Great price (on sale)
Cons:
  • Too complicated for average shooter.
