The MC's Review of SIG SAUER Romeo4H Red Dot Sight with Juliet4 4x Magnifier Combo

Two Part:

Romeo4h - I have both models of 4H with the purchase of this one. I'd say that i like the Cicle Plex better, the one that comes with the magnifier is the circle dot. ALthough, i do not have an astigmatism, i do not perceive these dots all that well and even with the magnifier, the circle dot is only 100% clear in one eye. The circle plex is clear in both, with two different magnifiers. This sight doesn't appear to be made any better than the Romeo5. There is a noticeable hue on the right side during daylight. Not sure how common this is. Those are all of the negatives.

I love the big circle with the small dots (and crosshairs on the circle plex). It just pulls your eye right into the target and is great in one and two eyed shooting. I think you could probably use the EOTech measurements for the circle and maybe one or all of the dots on the circle dot for ranging since they're both 65 moa circles. So far it holds zero well, i have no noticeable drop off in accuracy. Also, comes on every time like it should. I have no real complaints.

Juliet:

I have not used this in real fire, but i can make some observations since i have another magnifier (and have returned one of these). The issue was not noticed until i got this magnifier. Long story short, the first magnifier i had did not level properly with my other Romeo4H, which is sitting on the same mount and same riser as the one that came in this package. I had to use one of the risers to get the two to work together. The standard had the red dot set too high even at full adjustment. The eye relief was also a little fussy.

As for this one, it matched right out of the box, and it dang sure better have because there are no risers included with the sight or the mount as with each of the two stand-a-lone products. The eye relief is more picky than my Burris, but thats to be expected, i guess, since its 4x instead of three. The mount is aces. Simply put, it puts the burris to shame. Glass is clear, it has a huge diopter range. I like the QD mount on the juliet better than the romeo. Its much better.

Deal or no Deal?
Well, lets see.
Romeo4H (gray only) - 320 ish (less current 10% discount on sig)
Juliet4 (Black) - 360 (less current 10% discount on sig)
Thats a total of $680. The current price of this less the 10% off on Sig is $620 ish.

Well that all depends on your uses and whether you want your colors to match. The black is on point and seems to match. I looked a lot better than the gray. In the end it doesn't matter much, but for something you will look at more than you'll lose, maybe you care. More importantly, the mount and rise situation. One mount, no rise means that these two are a pair and you have to be willing to commit to absolute co-witness or purchase mounts from Sig. You also, have to commit to QD mount, which i have no problem with, but i am not all that happy that its not included. Given Sig's problem keeping anything in stock, good luck finding those mounts. The question is whether the matching black color and the commitment to QD and absolute co-witness is worth saving $60 bucks.
