I bought these binoculars to replace a pair of Nikon Action Zooms, which while good glass, were just too large and the Porro prism design made the focus knob hard to reach underneath my baseball cap. The Simmons Master Series seem to have just as good, if not better glass, sharp and clear. Plus I can reach the focus knob without popping off my cap. My only complaint is that the twist-up eyecups could use a little more friction. I sometimes back them out while turning the focus knob. However, the focus and pupil separation adjustments are just right. Some have complained that these binoculars are heavy. But since I use them from a bench, I have not noticed this to be a detriment. They are built very solid and look good too, better than their sister optics, the Meade Kestrels.
Pros: Roof prisms/compact design, long eye-relief, twist-up eyecups, rubber armored
Cons: Twist-up eyecup friction
