Tire Ballast Service's Review of Steiner T432 Reticle 5.56 Cal Battle Sights

After reading the other reviews I was compelled to post my own review. First off the mounting is to spec. The cmalp bar is not designed to match the angle. The flip up caps are unique for sure. They are for protecting the lenses not for looking through. The clarity aspect is for "emergency" type use. This is a "combat" sight not a sporting sight. If there is a drizzle and you absolutely have to shoot. You still can. As for ARD devices. Unless your in a combat situation why would you need one? The illumination settings are flawless. Yes 1 is dim. It's supposed to be. In near pitch black you can get lined up on a coyote before throwing on the big light and shooting it. The brightest setting is so bright it is to much in direct sunlight. So it's perfect. The eye relief is unique to prismatic sights. You must set it correctly to your eye. If you see a black halo you will not shoot accurately. It throws the parallax way off. With a prismatic sight the "eye box" is very small. It's the trade off. With a little practice you don't even notice it at all. In my opinion it is a great sight for hunting. I have mine on a 10.5 300blk with a Burris FF3 on an offset mount. Where I hunt I have 20 to 40 yard shots and then out to 100 in some areas. Swamps are tight places. On the bench I can do MOA at 100 yards with it easily. It's a little heavy but again that's the trade off. Mine has been on 3 hog hunting trips and 1 deer trip so far. And I love it a lot.
