Adrian's Review of SureFire Compact Remote Switch w/MLOK Mount

I bought this over a Unity Gascap + AXON SL Link, but opted for this for the cheaper price and maximum cable length available.

I have a 20" Mossberg 590 with a Surefire M640DFT. I originally had a roughly 7-8 inch wire remote for a Streamlight Protac 2.0, but I upgraded to shave off weight. However, my problem lied with how much I wanted to deal with experimenting with wire lengths, and Surefire gave the solution to my problem by providing a 9-inch option.

When I got it, I obviously had too much cable for what I needed, but that problem went away once I realized I had enough surplus to coil it myself, so that's what I did. The wire stays close to the gun when I rack it, and out of the way when chambered.

Onto brass tacks, the SF plug is tight to my tailcap (I got the one without a backup button, only socket.) I literally can't pull it out with my bare hands, though it'll probably take some convincing with a multitool to get it out. I for sure don't think the plug will walk itself out over 12 gauge recoil.

From the announcement by Surefire, this remote doubles both as a pressure pad AND button, and boy they weren't lying. This thing is basically a hair trigger for a switch, to the point that when I got it all set up---I sometimes forgot my thumb was on the button and I thought the remote was broken.

I haven't shot my Mossberg with it on yet, but right now this remote has knocked it out of the park for me.
