Doc's Review of Trijicon Bright & Tough Night Sights for Glock

I initially bought the Trijicon front and rear set for my Glock 21 G4. The front blade in the set is 0.150" high and printed about 5" high from point of aim at 25 yards with my pistol. I spent another $60 on a 0.170" front blade and this brought the POI down 2" so that it is centered on NRA 25 yd bullseye target, just where I like it (FORS).

Optics Planet seems to be the only place one can buy the taller front blades, even the Trijicon website does not mention them. My only gripe is that I had to buy a useless 0.150" blade in the original set. It would be better if Trijicon sold the front and rear sights separately.

My local gunsmith charges $50 to install Glock sights, so I invested $110 for a MGW rear sight tool and $10 for a front sight tool (an ultra-skinny 3/16" hex driver) and did it myself. I am not especially good with tools but it was pretty simple. Numerous YouTube videos are available.

The packaging for the 0.170" front sight does not list the Glock 21 as a compatible model but it worked just fine on my Glock 21 G4.

I will also comment that the luminosity of the Trijicon sights is less than I expected. They glow brightly in total darkness but just look like white dots in dim light or sunlight. Nonethelsss, the solid steel construction makes these a worthwhile upgrade to the stock factory plastic sights.
Pros:
  • Solid steel construction
Cons:
  • Non adjustable elevation
Best Used for:
  • Glock upgrade
