Legacy Reviewer's Review of Trijicon RX06-11 Reflex 12.5 MOA Amber Dot Sight with Weaver Mount

This is a wonderful little optic. My first experience with Trijicon, but I have an EoTech and have extensively used Aimpoints in training. The absolute best thing about this optic is it's always on...no manipulation is ever needed. Just pick up the rifle and start shooting. My EoTech is great for CQB, but I have to turn it on first and then dim it to the correct setting for the current conditions. Plus its not very precise and distance because the dot is fuzzy around the edges. The Trijicon with Amber Triangle is wonderful because if you need precision you have it. Bullet impact at tip of triangle. Fiber optics make it easy to see in any type of dailight, and the tritium glows great for low/no light conditions. A friend commented that the glow was too low for his liking, but he's used to the other optics that are quite bright at night. I personally don't want to ruin my night adeptation when looking at the optic. I used this in pitch black conditions with a weapon light attached to rifle and the triangle was actually made a bit brighter from the reflected light off the weapon light. I had no issue losing the sight because of the light or weapon flash. The fiber optic/tritium combination really works.

One negative. If you get the angle just right looking toward the sun, the light reflects off the back of the optic into the lens. Trijicon supplies you with a polarizing sun shade attachment, but it works from the front of the sight, so the reflection off the back isn't affected by this. Plus the sun shade is kinda silly IMHO. I don't use it because it's extra weight, bulk, and I've never had a situation that it was really needed. It seems when I use it, it does darken the sight picture, but it also darkens all the surroundings making it just as difficult to make out the target anyway.

You'll get a cheap bikini cover with the light as well. It's functional, but not the greatest.

I want to give an honest interpretation of the optic, but do not let the negatives make you think this is a bad optic. Like i said before, I LOVE this optic...it's never coming off my 5.56. Great for CQB and long range engagements (probably out to around 100-200 yrds as it's not magnified), and I don't have to worry about turning it on if my house gets overrun by zombies in the middle of the night.

Also, the company seems to be a Christian run organization as all their optics have a different scripture imprinted on them. 2 Cor 4:6 for this model. "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." AWESOME!

Keep up the good work Trijicon!
Pros: Simple, durable, precise and reflexive
Cons: Price, some glare at certain angles.
