A bit off... - Weaver 1 inch/30mm 6-Hole Picatinny Rings

I wanted my ring's and rail to be matched for fit reasons. I chose these ring's because they seemed sturdy (six screws) and went nice with my weaver rail. The fit of the rings to the rail were great, it wasn't until I lapped my rings for my new scope the issue became prevalent. Having bought the complete weaver scope lapping kit in the past with ALL the goodies, I expected their rings to be just as excellent, the rail was great also! But to my surprise, the rings were not well matched at all, one was very true the other was not true at all! It took forever to get the non true ring to lap correctly so I could at least get 90% contact on it, the first ring was 100% true almost immediately, I spent at least 30 minutes getting the second ring to 90%. It fits tight now, no slippage or distortion on the scope, but the work involved was a real downer. Not what I would have expected of the Weaver name, their quality control had a fail on this set. If I had it to do over, I would have returned the rings to the store but, buying online and the mail issue plus dealing with the return process seemed more hassle than just spending the extra half hour lapping. I would not recommend this set to a friend nor will I purchase them for my next build. If they would have cost more I would have returned them for sure, but at the price I paid, I guess I got what I paid for? Budget builds still cost a lot with what needs to be acquired, I will find another brand next time and spend a few more dollars for a truer set of rings.
