The Thru-Hull is rated for drainage above the water line for increased longevity above the water line. When the Thru-Hull is below the water line, a hose should be used to allow water to pass into or out of the vessel. The white color of the Thru-Hull indicates a higher quality product and a tighter seal when the hose is installed.
