The unit I received is a discolored brass color, not Stainless Steel like in the listing image and description. Is this normal? Expert Answer

Yes, this is normal as Shadow Systems has recently added the reddish coating to the part.

At a time when many pistol parts are MIM’d, Shadow Systems proudly offer a 17-4 stainless steel firing pin safety machined out of a solid billet of American steel.  We believe reliability is paramount.  Therefore, our firing pin safety is machined to exactly match the weight and dimensions of a stock firing pin safety to ensure it goes bang every time.  For 9mm G17,G19, G25, G26, G34 Gen 3/4image

This part has been redesigned for improved trigger pull.  This is the version currently used in the MR920, DR920 and XR920 pistols.

Fits all 9mm Gen 1-4, except 42, 43

Heat treated 17-4 stainless steel, with Nickel Teflon coating, firing pin safety
