Disposable plastic cassettes hold tissue specimens during processing, embedding, and storage. They are molded from a special, high-density acetal polymer and are completely resistant to the chemical action of histological solvents. Cassettes keep specimens safely submerged in liquid while the efficient flow-through slots maximize fluid exchange and ensure proper drainage.

A special hinge holds the base and cover together and allows cassettes to be opened and closed as often as necessary.
