These rails are designed for H&K weapons. I adapted them to use on a non H&K rifle stock. Have not had any problems as of yet. Pros: light weight, strong Cons: screw holes specific to H&K weapon, hard to adapt

Red dot finders and lasers are made to mount on Weaver rails. These work perfectly for that purpose. The notches accommodate the lower placement of the Stellarvue RDF mounting screw fir perfect alignment of the dot with the gun barrel.
