Most Helpful Positive Review Great Scope
This scope was everything it claimed to be. Granted this was my first spotting scope, but the first time my wife and I used it, she easily helped me zero-in my weapon at 100 yds. The tripod was used at the table level. It's not the best tripod, but it did it's job and I expected that. I have the...

Most Helpful Negative Review Barska 20-60X60
This scope has NO practical eye relief. A pain to use on a shooting range. Pros: Clear images especially at lower magnification Cons: Need to remove glasses (safety or corrective) to use

Cheap, for the casual recreational shooter

by Plink 182, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on November 15, 2025
I sold one of my rifle scopes to a friend and moved the other scope to a different mount. This Burska got the sight-in job done just fine on a sunny day.
Cons: Chineseium optics, flimsy tripod, no eye relief, drop-off in brightness and clarity after ~40x.
Pros: Adequate for sighting in a couple rifle scopes @ 100 yards. Doesn't cost $2500.
Best Used for:
  • Casual sight-in

This is a budget friendly scope. It's not top shelf, but it is a decent scope to get you where you need to be.

Pretty good bang for the buck

by RM, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on April 26, 2025
I compared this to a Crossfire 20-60x80 and honestly couldn't tell the difference. Both had chromatic aberrations at max range, but that is to be expected. Honestly this lesser-priced optic will do you just fine unless you have a need for ultra-fine glass for a particular reason.

My first scope

by Friscokid, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 13, 2024
Exactly what I needed! Didn’t want to spend too much and didn’t want to buy super cheap. It does its job as needed and couldn’t ask for more. The stand is decent and will do for what it’s needed. I added a phone mount so that I am able to see clearly where my shots land and not need to actually look into the scope. This should last me for a long time!!
Pros:
  • Price
  • view
  • Accessories
Cons:
  • size
  • tripod
Best Used for:
  • Distance
  • Viewing
  • Dialing in

It’s not a $3,000 optic but for what it is, it’s great.

At half a mile I could read the tag on someone’s car. It wasn’t the easiest thing to do but once my eyes adjusted I could make out the tag.

Barska Blackhawk

by TnMadMike, from TN, United States Written on March 14, 2024
This is a pretty nice spotting scope that isn’t super expensive. Nice clear glass that focuses easily. Tripod works but is a little on the flimsy side. Do like that you get 2 case options. If you buy one you may not love it but you sure won’t hate it. High value for the price point.
Pros:
  • Clear glass and included extras
Cons:
  • Flimsy tripod
Best Used for:
  • Spotting at the range

Barska 20-60x60mm Blackhawk Spotting Scope w/angled eyepiece - can't really use above 20x

by Backyard watcher, Verified Owner from KS, United States Written on December 5, 2023
I wanted a scope for target spotting at 100-200 yards, and to watch what's out in the back yard. This one will do the job, but don't expect to get beyond 20x using it. It seems to have a pretty good view at 20x, but you will have your eye right against the rubber eyecup. Beyond 20x, the scope becomes unusable due to insufficient eye relief. Realistically, it's about what I expected for Chinese optics; I just couldn't justify paying 10x-20x the price of this one for the good stuff, and there doesn't seem to be anything in between.
Pros:
  • Affordable
Cons:
  • ZERO eye relief
Best Used for:
  • Spotting 25-200 yards

Barska Blackhawk 20-60x60mm spotting scope

by Dean, from PA, United States Written on May 16, 2022
For the money, it's great. Does what I need it to do but I'm not looking to scope out to much more than 100 yds. Seems to loose a little clarity at 60x magnification. Otherwise, OK. Ocular and objective lens covers are good as is carry bag. Hard case maybe a little overdone. I'd trade back the hard case for improved optics.
Pros:
  • cost
Cons:
  • optics
Best Used for:
  • Medium distance viewing
