Barsa 6-24X50 scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 12, 2013
Well the scope can be fixed. It just takes some patience and experience. Not ready to go out of the box. The windage and elevation adjustments must be moved in all the way then out all the way several times to get the reticle to start moving correctly. After that the scope will work correctly
Pros: Fixable, good optics for the price.
Cons: You need patience and experience to get this scope to function....

It Works!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 22, 2013
when you get this scope wind the elevation turret up and down to the stops 100 times....then the scope will zero easy and STAY zeroed! When you zero the scope start with low shots and turn the turret clockwise to raise your shots as you shoot....if you need to go back down lets say 2 clicks.....go down 4 and wind the scope back up clockwise 2 clicks....always end an adjustment by turning the elevation turret clockwise. Dont need to mess with the azimuth turret unless you dial in your wind settings.....break it in the same way as elevation turret if you do.
Pros: It can be fixed!
Cons: Fixing takes a little elbow grease!...

Good low end scope!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on March 15, 2012
If you are looking for a lower cost higher magnification scope, this is a good value. Mounted on a .223 Savage
with handloaded rounds we can get a 1/2"
group at 100 yds.
Pros: Value is there!
Cons: Optics not as good as higher end scopes!...

barska 6-24x50 Ir sniper scope

Got this scope to put on my remington 700 .22-250 wishing to do some long range coyote hunting. First the rings that come with it are cheap. Bolt sheered off upon instalation so had had to buy weaver rings. Once getting the scope to the range i noticed it would not get dialed in. Thought it could be the ammo and after switching same problem. Friend got same scope and had same problem, rounds were going everywhere. This scope will not shoot moa! You will be lucky to hold a 4in group at 100 yds with this scope! Dont waste your money trust me!!!...

You get what you pay for

First off I think I got a used scope. When I pulled the altitude dial off to set zero the first time it looked like someone took a pair of pliers to the actual inner shaft and started shearing off aluminum. At the price it wasn't worth the hassle and aggravation to ship it back as I would get stuck with shipping costs most likely.
I purchased this "value" scope as something with high power to slap on an AR15 for target shooting out to a few hundred yards. It mounted up fine and holds zero fine... IF... and a BIG IF... You don't turn the windage and elevation dials AT ALL. The clicks are not consistent, and clicking back to zero does not happen reliably if you go very far from zero. 24x power is dark, and a small sweet spot to acquire target at high magnification. I just sent about 500 rounds downrange using "kentucky windage" for drop and wind and it held zero great.
Parallax knob works well, and holds zero fine throughout the entire magnification range.
Pros: Price
Cons: adjustment knobs pretty useless...

I bought this scope a month ago, the elevation turret not moving much even with many clicks. The windage turret completly unresponsive out of box.I called Barska right away they emailed me a Rma#. I had to pay for shipping, its been several weeks now still no scope. The rings are very low quality I bought a $40 set of rings for my Remington 700 5R milspec, they attatched to a nightforce picatinny rail.I don't know when it will arrive if its much longer I will just buy the Leupold I should have got in the beginning. I only bought it because it was cheap and I wanted to shoot my new rifle, whilst saving for the high end Leupold Mark 4 which is $1899.00....
