BlackHawk Takes Top Honors

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AZ Written on March 3, 2014
Have you had a difficult time on which pair of Tactical Pants you should buy from Optics Planet? Well, I have done my research and tried on every tactical pant; and Blackhawk clearly wins. Do you guys and gals appreciate how much work goes into a ripstop tactical pant? There are stitches that about 1/4" apart throughout the entire pant. Thus the name ripstop. If you get hung up and something and the shirt tears, all those stitches help preserve the shirt. I have tried every lightweight pant available through OpticsPlanet. The ones from Blackhawk is the clear winner for a number of reasons. On each side you have slanted pockets. On the back rear right pocket, their is a pocket in a pocket, but it also closed with a zipper. The perfect place for your wallet and you never have to worry about losing it. On each leg you have a small flapped pocket.. Perfect for your cell phone or any small items you may take along. The large flap pockets have ample room to expand as you place your gear within it. Their is also a vertical zippered pocket just above the flap pocket. Did I mention most of the pockets use velcro to keep them closed, except those that have zippers. The pockets even have elastic dividers for your pistol magazines. The larger pockets can carry magazines for your AR15.

Now we get into comfort. These pants are the most comfortable of any tactical pant. The gusseted crotch does wonders in keeping the pants comfortable, even when you bend done. The hidden elastic waist band...

nice pants

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CO Written on August 13, 2013
These are good, rugged pants, that should hold up well. They are a heavier material than what may be comfortable in hot weather, but probably ideal in colder weather. Well designed for pockets. My only objection is that they are very baggy pants.
Pros: heavy duty, good number of pockets
Cons: baggy...

Great security pant!!!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 15, 2013
Love these pants! I wear them every day for work (Security Officer/Armored Transport) Lots of pockets, comfortable to wear, even blocks the wind!! They fit great, they are a bit baggy in the inseam for my taste, but they still look very professional and well fitted. I will be buying more of these pants in the future
Pros: Great fit, lots of pockets
Cons: baggy fit in the inseam...

WOW-WHAT A PANT

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on April 9, 2013
This is a great pant. With many more, functional pockets than 5.11 Tac-Lites, this pant dominates in cargo capability. The small watch pocket in front right pocket is awesome. Buy these pants
Pros: Comfortable, stylish, durable...

avid shooter, hiker, outdoorsman

im 5'11 155 and i bought the 32'32 khaki pants. id have to say they are a nice set of cargos. They scream Quality right when you open the package!. there are so many pockets i am still trying to figure out what to do with them! so far i carry my benchamde knife, flashlight, stuck a few mags in the webbing of the cargo pocket, cell phone, etc. and STILL have room. the double layer seat and knee are AWESOME. these pants look like they can be put through some abuse. i have been on a 5 mile hike with these pants and have no complaints, they held up very well. i have even worn them to the shooting range, pockets to hold my mags, again no complaints. they are pretty true to size as I ordered my regular jean size and they fit great with enough length to blouse into my boot. Blackhawk has yet to dissapoint me. the only drawback of these pants is the price,so i bought them when i caught them on sale. You also get what you pay for and these ARE QUALITY. Definetly recommend! i will be buying another pair in black. overall a great item and also a great buying experience from opticsplanet. no complaints here! GET YOU SOME OF THESE PANTS!
Pros: quality, pockets, look
Cons: pricey...

Blackhawk Light Weight Tactical Pants, Black, 36 X 30

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MN Written on April 6, 2013
Have not worn them enough to say how they wear.
Pros: The tag size is exactally what they were. I'm actually a 29 length but with the first washing they did shorten up about a inch so now fit perfect!
Cons: Would have like to see the front pocked cut so that the clip on knife would sit on a flat (horizonal) portion of the pocket corner....

Absolutely top notch

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NC Written on April 1, 2013
Blackhawk set out to surpass 5.11 Taclite Pro pants and they may have succeeded. These pants are extremely feature-rich with more pockets and hidden zippers than I can find use for (perhaps more than I need, personally).

I really like the rubber shirt-retaining band sewn into the waist and the zippered pockets on the legs for accessing small items while seated. The poly/cotton fabric Blackhawk uses seems thicker than 5.11's, but that might just be because they're new.

I miss the deeper pockets on my 5.11 (especially the back pockets). I don't know if these features are worth the extra $20, but I'll buy them when they go on sale. Your mileage may vary.
Pros: Solid construction, more pockets, very well thought out
Cons: Expensive, pockets not deep...

Good Pants

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 28, 2013
I bought this pants because of those many pockets especially the hidden zipped pocket. when traveling I keep my passports in there ( 2) and still plenty of room. The wallet pocket is great too as I don't need using my chained wallet.

Teg first time waering them is not comfortable, it takes a while until they get softer, but then - you wont take them off sooo comfy !

The expandable waistband and the silicon strip, it keep my shirts tucked in really.

As for the light weight could be lighter.

Pros: baggy, plenty of pockets
Cons: not so light...
