Simply the most professional way for a rifleman to mount their glass on an AR-15!
Do you know what "NTCH" means with your AR-15? (Nose to charge handle for you lazy picnic table shooters and pretend zombie warriors)... If you shoot an AR-platform with your nose touching the charge handle, AND you are over 5' tall (and have a normal nose), your neck extends to the point that you will need 3" of cantilever to obtain the correct eye relief for a traditional telescopic sight ("scope"). Most cantilever mounts are simply not correctly made for "NTCH" positioning; not unless you have the neck of a Giraffe or the nose of a... Oh you get the idea... Just buy the GG&G mount and r...

Best High Power Scope Mount
After extensive web research on the best way to mount a scope for NRA competition, this is the best.
Why? You have a maximum amount of adjustment slots, with a set of medium height steel Warn permanent rings, your nose touches the charge handle and your check bone rests on the stock. With a Leupold AR Mod-1 1.0 x 4.5 scope I have proper eye relief without being a contortionist. A one piece mount may look streamline, but you are limited on scope height and eye relief positions. I torqued the rail to 35 pounds, and the rings to 35 pounds. The rail threads are steel inserts, so no freakout in stripping this bad boy.

GG&G GS-1 Great Product
Wonderful product very accurately made . Long optics mounting is a breeze . Contour of the mount blends very well with the AR upper . Optic Planet has the best price point on this seldom discounted item , a big plus !

Strong for mounting a scope.
This adds stiffness to a scoped AR, which can be important for position shooting with a tight sling. Quality and fit are perfect. I used 55 inch pounds of torque to "seat" the riser to the upper, seemed to be able to handle this value easily.

Best Rail You can put on your AR
Needed a 1/2" Raiser.... for my L/R Varmint AR 15,and a place to put my Brass Catcher....this product works for both. Attach's to upper receiver and fits true, attached my Burris AR-PEPR mount w/scope. Took AR to the range, only slight adjustment needed, fire over 150 rounds over a period 6 hours, had no issues. It raised the scope to a height and placement that was a lot more comfortable to shoot, ground squirrels all day.

Quality product with a caveat
This GS-1 FIRE rail is well machined and mounted correctly on my DD M4 V5 flat top. However, the GS-1 rail will not correctly accept an Eotech G33 STS QD magnifier mounted behind an Eotech 512. I tried various configurations including removal of the G33 STS QD transfer bar and re-installing on the GS-1 rail only to find the GS-1 pinch-bar interfered by the G33 mount. Upon tightening, the GS-1 pinch-bar bowed under the G33 and therefore does not provide confidence due to lack of complete contact between the GS-1 pinch-bar and the flat-top picatinny rail; the risk of failure is not an option. This issue I am experiencing relates more to the Eotech mount as the GS-1 appears to accept other rail mounts such as a Troy BUIS and scope rings. Remedies would include milling the top of the pinch bar or the bottom of the G33 mount, neither options appear palatable at this time. In conclusion...the GS-1 appears to be a competent rail for devices with compatible mounts but NOT a G33 STS QD. I will be ordering a YHM rail as the pinch-bars do not interfere with the accessory rail.
Pros:
- Well made, solid mount.

- None

GS-1 rail
wanted to mount PS-22 without having to use Quad rail in front of ACOG on my 6.8...i just like the smooth tube up front. works very well. Only thing i can think of is that it would have been better to have 3 mounting screws to cover the lenght of the ARs top receiver rail....no movement though... so i cant complain
Pros: nice durable finish
Cons: would have preferred an addition mount screw
