Most Helpful Positive Review Works Great For glasses & Small Items
I bought 2 of these and use one of them on the front strap of my backpack for my reading glasses (to keep them handy)... I also use them as small pockets to hold small long things as I like "pockets" for organization with all of my packs. Pros: Great reading glasses or small item pocket/carrier

I put this pouch on my new plate carrier. NOTE this item does not come with attachments for MOLLE gear. I had to buy a separate set of BlackHawk speed clips to complete the setup.

That being said its is great! I have looped a lanyard line through my gear for quick extraction if I get injured. This pouch is used to contain the extra line and works great. Good zipper and quality seams. It could carry a number of items but this is why I bought it. It fits well into my setup with out taking up 2 lines of molle.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • color options
  • Construction
Cons:
  • No MOLLE attachment pieces
Best Used for:
  • Tactical

I use this to carry my sunglasses/glasses when in the car or going for a walk/hike.It's large enough to also carry a micro fiber cloth and small cleaning spray to keep the lenses clear. All in all this is a well made product and fits the intended use very well.

Maxped Cocoon Pouch

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on April 25, 2012
I got this pouch to mount on the side of my Maxped Sitka for holding pens/pencils. At that task it excels and looks good doing it.

I was a bit disappointed at how hard it is to open/close. You must hold one end while zipping/unzipping even when strapped in place The problem is there aren't enough MOLLE straps. It needs one more at each end.

Otherwise, it's a good pouch and I'm sure it'll last for the rest of my life without wearing out.
Pros: Rugged YKK zipper, MOLLE straps on back, sturdy/well-made
Cons: very difficult to zip/unzip with one hand, not enough MOLLE straps on back

Maxpedition Cocoon Pouch... Sturdy Storage

Maxpedition Cocoon Pouch with Quick Release buckles is rugged and roomy. I mount it to the front of my shoulder strap on my pack, and store a bandana, flashlight, and my sunglasses in it. With the quick reklease buckles, I can remove it easily and hang it from my belt when I'm not carrying my pack.
Pros: Built to last , easy access

Cocoon Useability

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on February 23, 2012
Needs to be stiffer, or a different placement of zipper. Possibly a larger YKK zipper? That might be the ticket...
Otherwise, pouch effectively holds my reading glasses, and several IR/Red chemlights.
Pros: Ample space for items
Cons: No ability for one-handed zip to close

Maxpedition Cocoon Pouch 3301

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on July 17, 2009
I attached Cocoon Pouch to my tool bag's handle using a tie-tac. I weaved the tool bags handle thru the MOLLE loops, its very secure. I use the Pouch to hold my leather work gloves. The gloves have to be folded and rolled tight to fit. Having the gloves outside the bag in the pouch makes them instantly available when I get to work. I wear out a set of good gloves every 6 months, I wonder if I can wear this pouch out. I doubt it. As always you can almost never go wrong with a Maxpedition product, I am Addicted to them!
Pros: Mutiple Mounting Options
Cons: Pouch is not stiff enough to zip closed when empty with only one hand.
