I bought the Meade LX90GPS 10 inch. The quality of the image is amazing. It will blow your mind. However, the weight of the telescope is an issue. I suppose that is the obvious trade-off with telescopes. I can barely lift it myself. Its really a 2 person operation. One consequence of the weight is the scope actually fell over at one point while trying to move it - and its currently back at Meade for $400 of repairs. If I had it to do all over again I might have gotten the 8 inch. The auto-alignment never works as seamlessly as you think it should. Definitely takes practice. Once you get it aligned in tracks/finds everything and the slow motor is completely silent (the prior versions made kind of grinding noise). I would get some extra eye pieces if you don't already have them. If you are paying that much for a telescope you are going to want to budget $300-$400 more for some good wide-angle eye pieces.

Wonderful technology. It talks to you, tells you the date and time and location and tells you all about the stars and things you view in the sky. This is highly recommended. The only problem is it is a little bit on the heavy side; other then that it's great!
