These binoculars are clear and bright for their size. I fould them to be very sensitive to focus. I have other binoculars that are the same style size and power (Bushnell) which I have found to be just as good as these, for half the price.
GREAT BINO!

A surprise! The defects are known in advance (small field, it is not waterproof), but the qualities far outweigh these defects. It can be used, even in birding and the outdoors, in daylight it with binos much praised. The best compact I know and have experienced many binoculars!

Pros: Light; Easy to Operate; Clarity of Field
Cons: Could have a little closer focus
Would recommend: yes

These Nikon binoculars are excellent for the beginning birder. They are light weight, the controls easy to operate, and the focus is quick. The field of view is is clear and just right for seeing birds a few yards away in the garden.
The close focus could be a little better but to get closer focus would require an expenditure several times the cost of the Nikon 7508 binocs.
These are great birding binoculars and, I find, very good for astronomy because of their lightness. My astronomy binoculars are 10x50s, heavy and quickly become a pain to hold while gazing at the sky. The Nikon 8x25s are entirely adequate for most of the sky viewing that I do. They have a much wider field of view than the 10x50s thus shaking is less of a problem.
