Most Helpful Positive Review Great bang for the buck and a nearly perfect 3-gun/tactical scope.

Great scope great price great service

by Butcher777, from United States, PA Written on November 18, 2014
I bought this scope to go on my FN SCAR17. The scope is perfect for what I want to use it for. Vortex Viper PST Socpes offer the best with a No BS warranty . Optics planets price was $50 less than any other and with free shipping . Vortex and Optics Planet the only way to go!...

Excellent Scope

by Nate, from United States, VA Written on November 17, 2014
I bought this scope to go on a 300 Blackout AR. It is just about perfect for anything I use the rifle for. 3 gun, hunting, target shooting, etc... Build quality is great, the reticle is outstanding, eye relief is good, and the quality of the turrets is good. I haven't owned it long enough yet to be able to tell if it keeps its zero well after being kicked around a bit, but I have no reason to think it wouldn't. Also, opticsplanet was awesome as usual....

Bang for your buck

by Josh, from United States, OK Written on August 5, 2014
Clear glass, true 1x, off position between each illumination setting (extremely helpful), good eyebox. My only complaint is the hash marks and numbers indicating MOA's are a little small/fine for my eyes. Heavy circle is great for quick acquisition at closer ranges, but holdovers will take a little bit of squinting. Overall a great scope!...
Pros:
  • Price
  • Clarity
Cons:
  • small hash marks
Best Used for:
  • 3 gun
  • AR15
  • Hog Hunting

Can't miss deal fit for any level shooter

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, FL Written on December 7, 2013
It won't make you a super 3 gun ninja all on its own, you still gotta pull the trigger yourself. But, people may mistake you for one (at least until they see you shoot). You don't need to break the bank to come away with an optic more capable than 95% of the people who will mount it. Bonus points for looking like a sensible man who knows his gear and not a fool who's easily separated from his money (unless of course someone spies your 24K gold $500 fanboy special trigger)
Pros: great glass, accuracy & repeatability for the price
Cons: a little heavy, though no more thany anything else close to this price point...

Best Bang for the Buck

Purchased the MRAD version and couldn't be happier. Easy to sight in, zero stop works great. Best 1-4x option for the money. True 1x works great as a 'both eyes open' red dot.
Pros: Clarity, Cost

Review Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 (MRAD)

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 9, 2013
Lighted reticle was what I was looking for along with a long eye relief. Vortex met these categories but fell short on two items: 1. reticle is very faint and thin and hard to see clearly; 2. Reticle is too bright in high setting and too faint in lower setting, hard to find a setting for moonlight hunting. would prefer rheostat type adjustment. Will sell this scope and get another scope.
Pros: Lighted Reticle
Cons: Reticle is too thin and numbers hard to see clearly...

Best AR scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 28, 2013
I chose this for my Colt CR - best decision I could have made. I mounted it using a Burris PEPR and could no believe how right on it was when I got done. It only required 2 clicks left and 8 clicks up to be dead on at a 100 yards. This isn't my first Vortex scope and it won't be my last.
Pros: Bright optics, great reticle, use as a 1x red dot or a magnified scope, return to zero turrets and more
Cons: None that I experienced...

Love this scope

Love it. Very easy to find your target and the clarity of the sight picture is great. Being able to adjust the scope for range quickly is another great advantage.
Pros: Easy target acquisition...
