Pros:  Bright optics, great reticle, use as a 1x red dot or a magnified scope, return to zero turrets and more
Cons:  None that I experienced
Would recommend:  yes

I chose this for my Colt CR - best decision I could have made. I mounted it using a Burris PEPR and could no believe how right on it was when I got done. It only required 2 clicks left and 8 clicks up to be dead on at a 100 yards. This isn't my first Vortex scope and it won't be my last.

Love it. Very easy to find your target and the clarity of the sight picture is great. Being able to adjust the scope for range quickly is another great advantage.

Older people or those with bad vision may have a hard time using the sight, but it is a very crisp sight and the illumination is easy to see in daylight.

Pros:  Features. Vortex Customer Service.
Would recommend:  yes

soul1man wrote:

This is a quality scope. The lens is crystal clear and the 1-4x magnification is great for CQB to Mid-range shooting. Unfortunately, the front cover was cracked when it arrived. Optics Planet said they couldn't provide a new one and to contact Vortex. Luckily, Vortex Customer service is excellent. They seem to really stand behind their products. They immediately sent me a replacement cover without any problems. Way to go Vortex. I will definitely be buying other products from them in the future.

Pros:  Clarity and ease of use
Cons:  It can't make up for my old eyes
Would recommend:  yes

Roberto Dean wrote:

My heart was broken when I saw the package when it arrived. It appeared as though the Samsonite Gorilla had been hired by Vortex to demonstrate the durability of their product on my scope! What an ugly sight! The packing carton was in dismal shape, and looked more like a blacksmiths bellows than a box! I was apprehensive to open the package to witness the carnage inside. I truly expected the worst and I know I wasnt going to be happy when you consider how long I had waited. I dreaded the thought of waiting 6-7 more weeks to get a replacement. After opening the shipping carton, it was pretty obvious that the scope had taken a major hit, and I do mean MAJOR. It was apparent that whatever impact that crushed the carton, managed to drive the windage turret through the side of the Vortex retail box. The tear was significant. I assumed the scope was a total loss. Fortunately for me I work not more than three miles from Vortex in Middleton, WI and, there was no better time to take the scope ...

Pros:  HUGE eyepiece for easy viewing. Easy setup. Awesome glass, super bright and clear.
Cons:  It's a 1-4 magnification. I'm used to higher powered scopes. So it will take a little getting use to.
Would recommend:  yes

itscastle wrote:

I am extremely happy with this scope. I purchased it awhile back and had to wait for like 4 weeks to get it, but it was like finding a twenty dollar bill in your jeans when it came! Only way better! Due to the large eyepiece, high or extra high rings are a must. I finally got to the range to zero it in, and was pleasantly surprised. The reticle is fine, but not too fine. After a few twists here and there, I was shooting 1" to 1 1/2" groups. I couldn't be happier.

Pros:  Clear bright glass and solid quality feel
Cons:  very very slight cant to reticle and somewhat dim during daylight
Would recommend:  yes

I purchased a Viper PST for a 6.8SPC project that I built. The intent of the gun was medium game (hogs, javelina etc.) and the occasional range trip. I wanted an optic that I could use CQB style with both eyes open, but still have the magnification available for 100+ yard precision. The first thing that I noted was the bright and clear quality of the glass. No, it's not a Night Force, but for about $500 it's excellent. The etching of the reticle is extremely clear as well. The weight of the scope is not what I would consider ridiculously heavy, yet it is substantial and quite noticeable on the gun. It feels like it's nearly twice the weight of an ACOG. Not a deal breaker, just closer in weight to a traditional scope than to most quick aquisition/CQB style optics. The finish is excellent and appears to be very durable. It's been on a few excursions with me and has proven not to scratch easily. The turrets have a nice solid tactile feel. Though I have not shot a box test with ...
