Fair function for fair price

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on July 13, 2014
at less than $100 I was crazy to NOT try this option. bought adapter and mounted on S&W M&P40 to see if pistol rds was for me. easily installed and looks nice. Took it to the range yesterday and it does as it says: a dot which is red. Zeroing proved to be a hassle. the provided screwdriver did not fit through the adjustment wheel as described so I was forced to eyeball adjustments. In addition, there is no "click adjustment" just a continuous spinning windage and elevation screw. These did not hold the zero well at all! the most I was able to get it to hold was about 20 shots. After I noticed the POI was off, I looked down and noticed the screw had rotated during firing. Just to make sure, I kept firing groups and watched the elevation and windage offset increase up and to the left. This was a constant problem. definitely got what I payed for but it served it's purpose. The easy target acquisition made it all worth while. I know I will be sticking with an RDS just not this one!
Pros: Easy install, easy use.
Cons: adjustment / zero. no auto on/off...

Sightmark Mini-Shot: User-hateful

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NV Written on October 18, 2013
Worst zeroing procedure I've ever seen: must remove end cap and loosen screws to allow adjustment (tiny, fragile parts); adjusters have no detents, stops, or calibration marks; changing one adjustment alters the other. Don't waste your money - false economy.
Pros: Light, inexpensive
Cons: Difficult to adjust to zero...

very good little sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on August 21, 2013
great little sight for the money.
Mounted on my B&T96 (swiss semiauto MP5) worked perfectly.
Holds zero well (although the gun has very mild recoil)
bright 2 intensity red dot, easy to point for a very fast target tracking.
I'll buy another one soon.
Pros: light, cheap, works
Cons: no clear feedback when sighting in...

Overpriced POS. Optics planet is great. I traded mine in for a Busnell trs-25. Very high quality, couldnt be happier with it.
Pros: Looks cool
Cons: Switch broke, only 2 brightness settings, lowest is too bright for low light. Didnt hold zero. ...

Awesome!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 8, 2013
I put this on a Mark III 22/45 and I love it! Looks amazing, works great. Have had it for over a year now and works as good as the day I got it. Was a little tricky to zero in... but not any more difficult than any other red dot I have. Took 15 mins maybe, still perfect after a year. I will buy another for my next pistol.
Pros: Great size for 22 pistol

Tried two of them with no luck

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 1, 2012
I purchased one of these to go on to a Ruger scout rifle. The first one I got could not hold zero and when the elevation was adjusted sometimes the windage would move. So I sent it back and thought maybe I just got a bad one, so I returned it for another of the same. The second one was just as bad. Sent it back again and purchased a Burris FastFire III, much better. You get what you pay for!
Pros: Small & light
Cons: poor quality & One of the bad things about it is there are no positive clicks when adjusting elevation or windage...

dimensions are incorrect

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on November 12, 2012
I wish I would of read the item description more closely. In the item description it says it's the smallest sight they make. I just looked at the dimensions that say 33mm. It's not 33mm it's something like 16x25 mm or so. good cheap sight for a pistol or something, not for my needs. Optics planet was wonderful with my exchange which should finish processing in the next day or two. This is my third purchase from them and they are quick to ship and easy to return. I'll keep coming back!
Pros: light weight
Cons: poor on off switch...
