The UPS Ground shipping is not free to us, OpticsPlanet.com - we hope you will become a life long customer, and we will eventually recover some or all of the S&H costs within the item prices.  Check out our discount sales prices and buy any item over $29.95 from us, and we will pay for Insured UPS Ground Shipping in the 48 Contiguous United States! We are the best in the business, and the Free UPS Ground shipping is one of the many advantages of buying from us!

UPS Ground Shipping option is Free to our customers on orders above $29.95, but if you want to choose another shipping option, you can find the shipping cost yourself BEFORE you purchase anything in our store - the shopping cart will show you the total BEFORE you place your finish the checkout! Just add the item (s) you are interested in to the shopping cart in our store and enter your Ship To address as the first step of the Store Checkout.  
You do NOT have to buy anything at that point, but you will see the correct shipping cost on the right side of the checkout page before you will be asked for the credit card information. Please make sure to select Correct Shipping Option, one that is available to your address.  If you see "Shipping may be added to your order. " below subtotal at the shopping cart, you have probably selected a shipping method that is not available for your Ship To address.

We prefer to ship via UPS because of its tracking features and the best success rate of delivering optical products to our customers undamaged, and yes, we still pack our products very well just to be safe.  
Free UPS Ground offer is NOT available outside of the lower 48 Contiguous States - other shipping options are charged at UPS cost.  We support our Military and their families, and all orders to Military APO/FPO addresses are shipped FREE OF CHARGE via USPS. Please note that due to very high cost UPS Ground shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is NOT Free and charged at UPS cost.
You must select correct shipping option at the check out. We ship Monday through Friday, and UPS delivers on business days only.  Please note that a regular UPS Next Day Air package shipped on Friday and a UPS 2nd Day Air packages shipped Thursday or Friday, will get to the destination the following week.  To schedule a Saturday delivery, please call OpticsPlanet.com (800) 504-5897 to place your order. UPS charges an additional fee for Saturday delivery (Saturday delivery option is only available with UPS Next Day shipping option shipped on Friday before 1:00PM).

International Shipping: We do ship worldwide via UPS. The least expensive shipping option to Canada is UPS Standard to Canada (please see our intl. shipping policy on brokerage fees and VAT charged by the governments outside of the USA).

Processing your order: We pride ourselves on very fast shipping and ship most in-stock orders within 1-2 business days from one of our IL, USA-based warehouses, but some orders might be shipped directly from the manufacturer and might take a bit longer.  In the unlikely case when we are unable to fulfill your order right away, we will contact you with a shipping estimate and the option of continuing or canceling the order.

Notification about the shipments: We will send you an automated email with the UPS tracking number for your order.  Please note that this tracking number gets uploaded to UPS and becomes traceable from http://www.ups.com within 24 hours - you might get the tracking number BEFORE UPS online tracking database has it - you might have to give it 24 hours and check again!

Time in Transit: UPS Ground shipping option requires about 1-4 business days to get a ground package from our IL-based warehouse anywhere in the lower 48 US states.  If you need your order faster, express shipping options via UPS are available, and the extra shipping cost is calculated by the shopping cart during check-out - make sure to select a valid shipping option available to your Ship To Address. Tracking: Once you get our email notification with the tracking number,  your can track the shipment online using UPS.com site or our UPS tracking page.  You can also contact UPS directly at 1-800-PICK-UPS.

Non-UPS Shipping: Most of the time Freight charges might be applied for items that are too large for UPS Ground weight limit of 150lb (for example, police traffic radar trailers), and these exceptions will be noted on individual product pages.  We will be able to provide Free Shipping within lower 48 US States option on most of our wholesale and volume purchases even if they have to be delivered by truck or any other shipping method - please contact our Volume Purchase Experts for an official price quote.
In some rare cases (mostly with custom prescription sunglasses and prescription goggles sent from the lab) we reserve the right to use a different shipping carrier such as FedEx or Airborne at no additional cost to you with the same or faster delivery method selected.
