While .38's are great, they can't hold a candle to 357 magnum ammo. Not all handgun ammo is the same, and .357 ammo is hard-hitting stuff. This is why it is one of the most popular rounds for revolvers, as it provides considerable stopping power in a relatively small package. If you're looking to stock up on 357 magnum ammo, we have exactly what you need. With tons of Magtech 357 Magnum, CCI Ammunition 357 Magnum Ammunition, Remington 357 Magnum Ammunition, and more from top brands in the industry, you can stock up on plenty of 357 mag ammo for all your needs. We also carry a wide variety of 357 magnum, including full-metal jacket rounds, hollow point ammo, varmint loads, and more, so you can find exactly what you need for any situation. Whether you're just looking to practice your aim at the range or you carry a 357 magnum revolver every day, you can never have too much ammo, so grab a few boxes from OpticsPlanet today!image

Can You Shoot 38 Special in 357 Magnum?

Many folks practice with .38 Special ammo for range training and target practice since a .357 can safely chamber and fire them. However, you cannot shoot a 357 magnum round through a weapon chambered specifically in .38 special, as the rounds are too forecful for the firearm. If you only want to practice with what you plan to carry though, then 357 magnum ammo is perfect for practice and target shooting. It is also in the top tier of concealed carry revolvers. Additionally, 357 mag ammo has a lot more recoil than 38 Special, so it makes sense to train with the ammo you plan to use primarily.

Is 9mm or 357 Magnum More Powerful?

Both cartridges are excellent for personal defense, but 357 Magnum outperforms 9mm ammo when it comes to ballistics. 357 Magnum rounds have a longer effective range and more stopping power but produce more recoil than 9mm cartridges. However, there are far more firearms that shoot 9mm ammo than 357 magnum ammo, so it can be easier to get new parts and upgrades for a 9mm.

Is There a Difference Between 357 and 357 Magnum?

While they are both great home defense rounds, .357 SIG ammo differs from .357 Magnum. For starters, 357 SIG can be chambered in certain semi-automatic pistols, while 357 Magnum is used in revolvers. In terms of raw power, 357 Magnum ammo outperforms 357 SIG.
