Is There a Difference Between 45 and 45 ACP?
Although not the only 45 round, .45 ACP ammo is definitely the most popular caliber in this size. If you're curious about 45 auto vs 45 ACP, it's actually the same thing. However, 45 Colt ammo is an entirely different caliber, most often referred to as .45 Long Colt or .45LC, and cannot be used in the same guns. Is 45 ACP Stronger Than 9mm?
45 ACP vs. 9mm ammo is a popular debate. In terms of pure stopping power, the 45 ACP bullet is larger and heavier than 9mm, creating a bigger wound channel. Overall, 45 Auto ammo and 9mm hollow points are both great self-defense rounds. 45 ACP is better suited for home defense because it is incredibly powerful and has a reduced chance of over-penetrating your target. 9mm rounds may be better for concealed carry, since 9mm handguns typically offer magazines with a larger capacity than 45 Auto and have more manageable recoil.
