Cryodot* vials have an abrasion resistant surface and a protective blue ring around the filling port. They meet and exceed FDA guidelines for direct mailing and are intended for use with CryoDor OASIS, which is required for certain vaccines administered in the US and abroad. Cryodot* vials require a Cryostat (sold separately) to open and close. Cryodot* vials require a CryoSort (sold separately) in order to open and close. Cryosorts are required to expose the freeze dried material to the environment for which they are intended to be used. They are to be used with powders, not for solids, because liquid nitrogen is an excellent refrigerant. Cryodot* vials are contained in a Cryobox*, which is an abrasion resistant container for which the Cryodot* is intended.
