Product Info for Alien Gear Holsters IWB Shapeshift Holster for Springfield Armory Hellcat OSP
Designed by a group of federal contractors, the ShapeShift Inside the Waistband (IWB) holster is one of the first IWB holsters to use a thermoformed shell. The shell is much more rigid than the traditional thermoform material, which is why we use it here at Alien Gear. The shell is much more durable than any IWB holster we have ever made, and thats what made us the best choice for the first adopter of the ShapeShift IWB Holster. We start with a traditional open top holster shape, and mold our thermoformed Kydex shell around the gun's trigger guard. Then mold the holster shape around the gun, over the top of the trigger guard, and attach the molding over the top of the trigger guard. From there, mold the holster shape around the gun, and attach the molding. You can then mold the holster around the gun and secure it closed with the provided molding. Or if you prefer, you can mold your holster shape around the gun, and snap the shell onto the holster. Then mold the outside of the holster around the gun, and snap the shell back onto the holster. No more molding or sewing required. The molding process for the gun side of the holster is done through a chemical process, and the gun stays extremely stiff, so it can hold the gun in the correct position even when it is unloaded. For the open top models with open sights, we recommend pairing the molding with a open top holster. Doing so will give you the best choice for an exceptional fit.
