I asked a previous question. My distance was incorrect. Ruger purchase guy. Looking for optics for 1000 yards not a mile? Thanks Manufacturer Answer

For 1000 Yards I would recommend the NX8 4-32X50 with a set of 1.375" rings Either the A110 black or the A678 dark earth. If you decide that you do want to reach out a mile, I would recommend stepping up to the ATACR 5-25X56 or the 7-35X56. For 1000 yards with occasionally trying to go out to longer distances the NX8 will do fine though.

I have just purchased a Ruger precision 6.5PRC. I would like to be able to hit a target at 1 mile. What set up would be recommeded? Manufacturer Answer

There are a lot of variables in that question. The 6.5 PRC is capable of hitting at one mile as long as the bullet stays stable through the transonic transition. For that kind of shooting I would recommend an ATACR 5-25X56 or the ATACR 7-35X56. I believe the RPR has a 30MOA rail so either a flat mount (0MOA) or traditional rings. People do use the NX8 4-32X50 for this range but I believe your best chance of success is with the ATACR.

The NX8 4-32x50 builds upon the rugged, reliable, and repeatable legacy our NXS line built over more than 20 years. Despite the compact size, the NX8 F2 riflescopes feature Nightforce's ZeroStop turret, Digillum reticle illumination, power throw lever, and several new purpose-built F2 reticles. The optical system uses ED lenses to allow for great optical quality in a system with an 8x zoom ratio and short overall length. The new MOAR-CF2D and MIL-CF2D reticles feature a dual scale calibration and provide users with an open center with dot and intuitive numbering of subtensions for a clear view of the target and fast holds anywhere in the reticle. The Dual Scale reticle scale system uses reticle numbering at both 16x and 32x and a calibrated mark on the power change ring to allow for accurate subtensions and a wide field of view or maximum detail. For hunters or shooters who prefer a reticle in the second focal plane that stays consistent in size throughout the magnification range, the Nightforce NX8 F2 scopes will take your capabilities to a whole new level.image
