When I got the item, the packaging says ".308 WIN/7.62x51mm". No mention of 6.5 Creedmoor - will it work? Do I need a different BCG for Creedmoor? — 2 Answers

according to one previous reviewer no. While most 308 bcgs are compatible with 6.5 this particular brand is not. if you go to their website you will find out they make a separate bolt carrier group specifically for 6.5 Creedmoor.
YES - please see my review (Dave in KY) from January 2025. Although this question was posted almost a year ago, the short answer is YES because the 6.5BCG and the .308 Win BCG have different firing pin diameters and the 6.5CR bolt has two ejectors, whereas the .308 Win/7.6sx51mm BCG has only ONE ejector. Refer to Cryptic Coating's FAQ on their website since they manufacture these BCGs and actually offer a 6.5 CR BCG. I ended up having to buy direct from them in order to finish my 6.5CR build since the CC-0205 I ordered from Optics Planet was causing 100% failures for me. The 6.5CR BCG turned that into 100% success rate with perfect ejections.
